Case Study: Resiliency Via Decarbonization

Mahesh Ramanujam’s latest paper in the Journal of Urban Regeneration & Renewal makes one thing clear: cities have the power to lead the charge toward a net zero future. Showcasing real-world impact from GNFZ-certified projects — SRK Exports in India, Grupo Chufani (with GNFZ Partner THREE) in Mexico, and Alfa Sustainable Projects in Israel — the paper highlights how GNFZ’s approach is driving bold climate action and delivering results ahead of schedule.

Top Environmental Project of the Year

GNFZ has been named a 2025 Environment + Energy Leader Award winner for its groundbreaking partnership with one of the world’s largest diamond crafting companies, Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK). GNFZ helped the company achieve full net zero certification for its flagship facilities six years ahead of schedule. This milestone not only redefines sustainability standards in the diamond sector but highlights GNFZ’s powerful approach to tackling Scope 3 emissions — often the hardest to address.

Network Spotlight

"My advice is simple: Don’t let complexity become an excuse for inaction. The sustainability space is evolving rapidly, and yes, it can be overwhelming—technologies, frameworks, metrics, certifications. But the real cost isn’t in trying—it’s in waiting."

We recently spoke with sustainability leader Héctor Gonzalo Miranda Plaza, General Manager of Regenerativa and GNFZ Advisor. Read about our new partnership and what this means for the Latin America region.

Insights from GNFZ Leadership

Milestones Achieved in Brazil and India

LFRV Sociedade de Advogados is leading by example as the first company in Brazil to receive a GNFZ Net Zero Operations certificate in the Emissions category — marking a major milestone in Brazil’s journey toward sustainability. In partnership with OTEC, the nation’s top sustainability consulting firm, LFRV completed its first GHG Emissions Assessment and created a customized Net Zero Plan. With strategic actions focused on energy conservation, green commuting, sustainable procurement, and transparent reporting, LFRV is setting a new standard for climate leadership in Brazil.

And in Jaipur, India, Design2Occupancy Services LLP (D2O) has achieved GNFZ's Net Zero Design certification in the Energy category for their headquarters! The comprehensive, performance-backed certification from GNFZ not only verifies the successful assessment of D2O’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, but also reinforces their leadership in the global net zero movement. As one of GNFZ’s early strategic partners in India, D2O will now extend GNFZ’s net zero certification offerings to their clients, further amplifying their impact on climate action.
