COP30 made one thing clear: ambition isn’t enough – action is what counts. Last week’s announcement at COP from GHG Protocol and ISO is another major step forward. Their COP 30 Action Agenda, especially Axe 6: “Unleashing Enablers and Accelerators,” calls for harmonized carbon markets and aligned accounting standards. By 2028, they’ve committed to strengthening the global system that underpins credible reporting, transparent markets, and interoperable regulation.

At GNFZ, we strongly support this move. When carbon accounting is aligned, organizations can act faster, set stronger targets, and deliver bigger emissions reductions.

Here’s how GNFZ is enabling that future:

  • We offer net zero certification for buildings, portfolios, and businesses — guiding organizations through emissions assessment, planning, implementation, and independent verification.

  • Our certification is built on incremental, data-driven progress — so you don’t need to start perfect; you just need to start.

  • We're deeply rooted in the GHG Protocol, ensuring our methods are globally recognized and aligned with international ESG standards.

  • We’re building a global network that connects practitioners, solution providers, and organizations committed to accelerating decarbonization together.

We believe partnership is the new leadership. As GHG Protocol and ISO chart a path toward unified standards, we stand ready— working across geographies, sectors, and value chains — to help turn global ambition into measurable impact. If you haven’t already, check out our GHG-Protocol backed decarbonization platform and certification to see how we turn carbon commitment into carbon clarity.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re not just building for a net zero future—we’re accelerating toward it.

Case Study Spotlight

Pravin Masalewale, a leader in India’s spice industry, has achieved GNFZ’s Net Zero Operations: Energy certification for their warehouse in Pune. The project includes high-performance on-site solar PV installation, exporting excess solar energy to the grid, efficient energy management, minimizing fossil fuel usage and robust monitoring and reporting of energy performance.

This case demonstrates how a business-scale facility can operationally embed net zero energy principles—and reinforces how GNFZ certification can support companies in emerging markets as well as mature ones.

GNFZ Advances Global Reporting Alignment

ISO and the GHG Protocol have announced a major partnership to harmonize global emissions-accounting standards—streamlining how organizations report and verify GHG data. GNFZ has already integrated this alignment into our certification platform, enabling clients to prepare for unified standards with clearer boundaries, improved comparability, and future-ready data processes.

In addition, GNFZ’s independent verification strengthens alignment with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), enhancing stakeholder confidence through robust metrics, governance oversight, and effective integration of forward-looking climate strategies.
