Pravin Masalewale Warehouse Achieves GNFZ’s Net Zero Energy Certification

Earlier this year, we recognized Pravin Masalewale at our GNFZ Net Zero Deep Dive Conference in Bangalore for having achieved their first milestone certificate for their Energy Assessment.

Pravin Masalewale, a leader in India’s spice industry, recently achieved GNFZ’s Net Zero Operations: Energy certification for their warehouse in Pune. Their energy and emissions calculation revealed that the facility is now operating at net energy positive – meaning they are exporting more renewable energy than their total emissions, achieving and surpassing net zero energy goals!

The Pravin Masalewale Warehouse achieved net zero energy through:

  • High-performance on-site solar PV installation

  • Exporting excess solar energy to the grid

  • Efficient energy management

  • Minimizing fossil fuel usage

  • Robust monitoring and reporting

Pravin Masalewale is raising the bar on corporate social responsibility while strengthening their market position. They continue to set an aspirational example of a comprehensive and successful long-term growth strategy driven by appealing to an expanding segment of eco-aware customers and partners.

This certification, and the strategies they took to get there, effectively demonstrate how industrial facilities, even with fossil fuel components, can achieve net zero energy certification by deploying renewable energy and maintaining energy discipline.

Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Anand Chordia (Director – Technology & Innovations at Pravin Masalewale) and the expert guidance of Eco Solutions, the project has successfully attained multiple accolades across the domains of energy, water, and waste management. From the initial design phase through construction to post-occupancy, the team has meticulously pursued and achieved certifications at every stage, laying a strong foundation for a sustainable future.

The team has a prime focus on crafting a circular economy approach that shifts us away from the traditional linear model of take-make-dispose and aims towards a closed-loop system where resources are reused, repaired, refurbished, or recycled continuously.

Moving forward, the team will continue to scale circular practices, drive innovation, and collaborate across industries to build a truly waste-free future.

Under the initiative of the Eco Factory Foundation, the team is working relentlessly towards creating impactful sustainable solutions across urban, rural, and industrial sectors, as well as at the individual and small-scale levels.

Key accomplishments to date include:

  • 300+ acres brought under certified organic farming practices

  • Awareness programs reaching over 400,000 farmers, promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture

  • Generation of more than 4.20 crore kWh of renewable energy, contributing significantly to clean energy adoption

  • Facilitation of 3,000+ metric tonnes per year of waste management, ensuring responsible material handling and landfill diversion

  • Planting of over 80,000 trees and donation of more than 500,000 saplings to support reforestation and biodiversity

  • 50 acres of waste management park created

  • Conducting Green Awareness sessions for citizens and students to promote environmental consciousness across communities

Through these initiatives, the Eco Factory Foundation continues to foster a culture of sustainability, education, and empowerment, enabling stakeholders at all levels to actively participate in the transition towards a greener, more resilient future.

These achievements significantly reduce our environmental footprint, contribute to climate resilience, and align with global sustainability goals. Their journey doesn’t stop here—continuous innovation and collaboration will remain central as the team is also targeting other net zero domains under GNFZ to drive innovation, and collaborate across industries to build a truly sustainable future.
