Hardik Miyani is an accomplished sustainability leader with nearly a decade of experience in energy management, building performance, and professional engagement. As an Energy & Decarbonization Manager at Baumann Consulting, he specializes in energy efficiency, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and large-scale decarbonization strategies. He leads Baumann’s Retro-Commissioning Committee and advances cost-effective, high-impact solutions that reduce operating costs, lower carbon emissions, and enhance occupant well-being. His expertise extends beyond individual buildings to community-scale energy strategies, contributing to sustainable urban development and resilient energy systems.

Hardik holds a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). Globally recognized for his contributions to engineering, education, and sustainability, he has received numerous accolades, including 30 Under 30 in Energy and Under 40 in Commissioning. As a Decarbonization Co-Fellow and Co-Author of a global guidance report on portfolio-level decarbonization, he provides actionable pathways to accelerate carbon reduction worldwide.

Beyond project leadership, Hardik actively shapes industry knowledge and policy. He serves on the Editorial Board for Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) International Journal IJSEEP, the Professional Development Committee at Building Commissioning Association (BCxA), the Standards Development Committee 1600 at Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and the Board of Directors for the Verdani Institute for the Built Environment (VIBE). A frequent speaker at conferences, he is dedicated to education, advocacy, and mentorship, inspiring the next generation of leaders in energy and sustainability.

In his role as an Advisor to the Global Network for Zero, Hardik guides energy management and retro-commissioning strategies to advance net-zero buildings and operational excellence, furthering the global movement toward a carbon-free built environment.
