Eddy Santosa, AIA, LEED Fellow, CBCP, BEMP and ENV SP is a nationally recognized sustainability leader with 25 years of experience advancing high performance buildings and infrastructure, net zero strategies, climate responsive design strategies and embodied and life-cycle carbon. Widely known for his leadership in green building and LEED implementation – including delivering more than 300 high-performance building projects – Eddy’s work over the past several years has increasingly focused on large-scale infrastructure, transit systems, and agency-driven capital where projects where sustainability, resilience and carbon accountability operate at billion-dollar scale.
Eddy is the Sustainability and Resilience Practice Lead for Parsons’ North America–West region, directing sustainability strategy for major infrastructure programs, including high-speed rail, airport terminals, transit stations, water infrastructure, and other public agency initiatives. Much of this work is delivered under Envision certification frameworks and agency sustainability standards, giving him deep, practical insight into how sustainability requirements are embedded in public RFPs, design standards, and long-duration program delivery. He is also an adjunct faculty member at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he teaches Environmental Control course.
Eddy has worked on a wide range of projects and collaborated with numerous transportation and public agencies, including serving as Vice Chair of the LA Metro Sustainability Council, where he advises agency leadership on sustainability policy and implementation. His experience spans major airport terminal programs, rail and transit facilities, water infrastructure initiatives, and large public–private partnership campus and industrial developments. He has also led decarbonization planning for complex urban districts and provides guidance on campus- and portfolio-scale sustainability strategies.
Prior to joining Parsons, he held senior positions at Mott MacDonald, IMEG Corp, DBR Engineering, Callison RTKL and HMC Architects. Throughout his career, Eddy has provided technical leadership to several nationally and globally significant professional bodies working to advance sustainable design. He has served as the former chair of the AIA National Building Performance Knowledge Community and as a former board director for the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) US. Additionally, he is a voting member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) SPC 209-2018R committee, a LEED ProReviewer, a former LEED Technical Advisory Group Member (EA TAG). He frequently delivers keynote presentations at national and international conferences and has authored numerous technical papers, articles, and research publications on sustainability, building performance, and carbon reduction.
As an Advisor to GNFZ, Eddy will guide how net zero certification can be best applied within infrastructure transit, and agency-driven projects. Drawing on his experience with transportation agencies and large-scale infrastructure delivery, Eddy will advise GNFZ on navigating public versus private adoption dynamics and uncovering pilot opportunities where the platform can demonstrate value in sectors where sustainability is mandated but carbon accountability tools are still emerging.
