Global Network for Zero Advisor Al Skodowski is an award-winning expert in business strategy, project management, building operations and maintenance, property management, and certification. As the Principal of Rivion, Skodowski heads strategy and business development for the company.

Skodowski began his career within building operations and maintenance at Hyatt Hotels in Milwaukee, where he worked his way to Assistant Chief Engineer. His contributions to the development of downtown Milwaukee include opening of the 1000 North Water Street office building as Chief Engineer, Operations Manager and Property Manager for the Milwaukee Center. Skodowski was named National Director of Engineering for Great Lakes Reit, where he built and oversaw an in-house operations and maintenance team. 

When Transwestern purchased Great Lakes Reit, Skodowski covered all of the company’s Midwest properties, before being promoted to SVP and Director of LEED and Sustainability. He led the Transwestern Sustainability Services team, which managed all of Transwestern’s energy and sustainability corporate efforts plus service to all clients globally.

Skodowski has also served as Chairman of the BOMA international Energy and Environment Committee, the local Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance (WGBA), and the United States Green Building Alliance (USGBC) National Board as Chairman. He was awarded the USGBC award for Individual Leadership in 2010. Skodowski has stayed active within USGBC on the LEED Dynamic Plaque – Arc Platform, the WELL Certification program, and the development and construction of the William Jefferson Clinton Children’s Center – Project Haiti Orphanage in Port Au Prince Haiti.
